Our Story

How we got started

Before living in Coeur d'Alene we were living in a small beautiful island country called Vanuatu. The island where we lived was very remote and my husband's work required a lot of travel. For my added protection and for some extra joy for our family we decided to get our first dog and our kids named him Rudy. Rudy was an "Island Dog"... a term locals used to refer to their dogs because know one really knew their breed. There was no ACK there! Rudy was a fierce protecter of me and my children, but also so lovable and a great play-mate for our small children. Rudy would roam around our large property, follow us to the garden, and play with the kids at the beach. Rudy quickly became our children's best friend. As kind and playful as he was, he never let an unwelcome guest on our property, and could be very fierce when he needed to. We all loved Rudy! When we moved back to the USA we were not allowed to bring Rudy with us. It was heart-breaking for our family and especially hard for our children. They had to get used to a new life and country and they had also lost their best friend! Once we were settled in our new home we spent hours researching all kinds of breeds of dogs to find the perfect puppy for our family. The more we researched, the more we knew we needed a Golden Retriever. Goldens are known for their playfulness and have enough energy to keep up with kids! They love to swim and hike! They are gentle and beautiful. A Golden Retriever was just what we needed! a perfect family dog.

When we got our first Golden our kids insisted she have the same name as their last dog they had left behind and so she became Rudy Bella. She has been everything we could hope for in a dog. We have loved having her so much and she inspired us to breed this amazing breed of Dogs.

It brings us joy when we match our precious pups with their forever family. It’s why we put so much time and love to better the breed and find prefect families for these puppies.
